Today’s Parent adds STAR Academy to its recommended list!
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010I’m very pleased to learn that Today’s Parent magazine has given two thumbs up to STAR Academy by placing it in its “Bookshelf – Our Favourite Books This Month” section. You’ll find it on page 34 of the December issue. It’s a special honour because one of the other books that also made the cut is “The World Needs Your Kid”. Written by Marc and Craig Kielburger of Free the Children, it offers advice on how to raise socially aware, activist children. I haven’t read it yet, but as the creator of Amanda Forsythe, Derek Murphy, and a gaggle of other fictitious kids, as well as the father of two very real ones, I’m putting “The World Needs Your Kid” at the top of my must-read list.
Thanks for the mention of The World Needs Your Kid. We were very pleased to be featured in Today’s Parent as well! Congratulations on having STAR Academy featured in the bookshelf list too.
Once you’ve had a chance to read The World Needs Your Kid I’d like to invite you to visit our Me to We Parents web site here: http://www.metowe.com/movement/parents/
As an extension of the book we’re in the process of creating an online community for like-minded adults to connect and support each other as they celebrate the joys of raising kids who care and contribute.
We’d be thrilled to have you contribute to the site and please feel free to mention STAR Academy as well!
Best wishes.
I’ve got The World Needs Your Kid on order and am very much looking forward to reading it. The online community you’re building sounds very timely. I think we all need more ways to connect in a significant manner, and I’d definitely be interested in contributing to your site. Meanwhile, I’ll include your Me To We site on my links page. All best, Edward
Hi Jon,
I’ve had a chance to look over The World Needs Your Kid and was very favourably impressed. It’s a great message, and there are lots of simple, practical steps for helping ensure that kids don’t become spectators on the sidelines. Will be in touch. Edward.
